Hi, I’m Lauren, and I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a wife to my best friend and a stay at home mom to two darling little girls. Family time is the number one priority around here.
I thought that when I got married I’d automatically know how to do it all. Keep the sink free of dirty dishes, the living room vacuumed, the bed made, from scratch dinner on the table, and make nothing but fun and happy memories. Guess what. I didn’t.
Then I figured that when I had kids and was staying home it would all click. Spoiler alert: that didn’t work either. In fact it got a lot harder.
I stressed and shed tears about my constantly messy house. I could try for a whole week to clean it and fail, only to have my husband come home and clean for two hours and have the whole place spotless from top to bottom. Was I just lazy? Was I missing some crucial part that made it so I was a terrible housewife? So much guilt.
I tried all the systems. But nothing I tried worked. Until I finally realized that some people have a knack for cleaning and organizing and some people just don’t. Some people enjoy it and some people don’t. I’m part of the second group. So I learned to simplify things to accommodate for my personal abilities (or lack thereof).
That’s what this blog is about. How to simplify the way you clean, organize, cook, parent. The way you live. I hope that by reading my story and what I’ve learned, you can find a new, simpler way of thinking and doing so you can find peace and joy in your home.
